Hello!
We’re Mimi and Suneel, travel enthusiasts and foodies. We love food tours and exploring cities through their cuisines. It shows off new neighborhoods you might not visit otherwise, introduces local flavors, and sheds light on the region’s history. Our mission is to make food tours more accessible for everyone and to simplify your planning process when you’re researching what to eat for your next trip. Because less researching and more experiencing is the way to enjoy your trip the most! Bon appetit!

Mimi McFadden
Travel expert, entrepreneur, and foodie
Mimi has been writing about her travels around the world since 2013 on www.theatlasheart.com. During those travels, she has taken cooking classes, worked at craft breweries and bars, and eaten everything from scorpions and maggots in Thailand to Michelin-star meals in Oakland. Food tours are one of Mimi’s favorite ways of learning about a new city, and her many travel experiences around the world have given her a unique perspective to share. But it’s not always easy to know where to eat, and planning can sometimes lead to impressive but time-consuming spreadsheets (not that Mimi has ever been accused of being too meticulous or anything…). So she decided to create this website to help all travelers, or even locals in their own city, have a quick, easy, and free resource to eat, learn, and travel!
Mimi went to the University of California, San Diego, where she studied Psychology, but her experiences traveling abroad, planning out every meal well in advance for any trip, and the fun she has had exploring new restaurants are what make this all possible. That, and eleven years of running a travel website and a desire to try every new food she can–she has even eaten balut on a food tour in Vietnam for fun, and then later saw on Survivor that it was a challenge for others to take one bite. With this website, she’s happy to combine her love of travel and food into a passion project that lets her share what she loves with the world.

Suneel Jain
Entrepreneur, avid traveler, and efficient planner
Suneel’s devised a system of planning trips with Mimi. They’ll split the trip in half, and Suneel will quickly plan his portion while Mimi reads the entire corpus of available knowledge on a city before coming up with a draft itinerary. While he loves going out to try new restaurants and traveling to new locations is a fun adventure, the planning portion is Suneel’s least favorite. So when Mimi introduced him to food tours, Suneel fell in love–a pre-planned way to experience a city, learn about its history, and eat and drink as well! The only drawback is the price, starting time, and flexibility over group size. So Suneel and Mimi created this website to eliminate those obstacles and give foodies an easy, quick, and spreadsheet-free way to try the best of any city.
Suneel practiced law in San Francisco for eight years after going to the University of California, Berkeley, and then Georgetown University for his J.D. But Mimi’s entrepreneurial spirit and success has allowed him to get away from all that and now he’s all in for any trip with Mimi, though he’s not sure if he’d join in on the consumption of scorpions and maggots. Suneel’s experience with planning trips has taught him the joy of finding a trusted source so that travel can be more doing and less planning. He sometimes has FOMO–what if he’s not getting the absolute best experience?!–but that’s offset by the fun and spontaneity of being able to just get out there. He’s thrilled to work with Mimi to bring this website to life and, in the process, try all the desserts the world has to offer!
